"Petra lives up to her name as she becomes family’s eighth generation to carve out a career as a stonemason"

Author: Katherine Donnelly

Petra is one of our 8th-generation family stonemasons. What makes Petra so special? She is the first registered stonemason apprentice in over 30 years in Ireland. Petra proudly continues the Irish heritage into the modern century. O’Flaherty Stone and the family are incredibly proud of Petra. Additionally, we would like to thank the Irish Independent for publishing Petra’s impressive stonemason journey.

The article delves into Petra’s personal stonemasonary story, her experiences, challenges, and the significance of carrying on such a traditional family profession through multiple generations. It highlights Petra’s achievements, her dedication to the profession, and possibly the historical and cultural context of stonemasonry within her family. It discusses the intricacies of the craft, the challenges faced in a traditionally male-dominated industry, and the pride and significance she finds in continuing her family’s legacy.
