I recently took part in a stone carving workshop with Killian and his team, and honestly, it was one of the most grounding and rewarding experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was so welcoming, relaxed, and inspiring. The setting itself was beautiful and peaceful, making it so easy to completely switch off from everyday life and fully immerse yourself in the craft. We were each given huge slabs of granite to work on, which made the whole experience feel incredibly authentic and hands on. I loved being able to carve whatever we wanted and then bring the finished piece home afterwards, it felt so personal and meaningful. There’s something really special about working with stone and creating something with your own hands from start to finish. Killian and his team were absolutely fantastic teachers. They explained everything so clearly, showed us exactly how to get started, and gave everyone the confidence to trust the process and find their own rhythm. They struck the perfect balance between guidance and freedom, always encouraging creativity while making sure everyone felt supported. The chats throughout the day, the shared laughs and the overall atmosphere made the experience unforgettable. It was one of those rare days where you completely lose track of time because you’re so present in what you’re doing. I only did the one-day workshop and genuinely wish I did the full two days because I could have happily stayed longer. I already know I’ll be back again. Cillian and the team have created a really relaxed environment where it doesnt matter what your background is , everybody finished with a lovely piece of carving and has a great time doing so. I booked myself into the stone carving workshop not knowing what to expect and was really blown away by the whole experience. The challenge of stone carving in itself was both humbling and enlightening. Giving me a much deeper respect for the craft and the buildings that surround me every day in Dublin . It was exciting to see Killian and his crew of apprentices so passionate about their craft and have an opportunity to learn in such a positive environment.
